Teacher Training Programme

In service course for Teachers of P.E. ( PHYSICAL EDUCATION )

Non Native English Speakers

This course is designed for non native English speaking Physical Education teachers availing of a Comenius grant.

Lessons will take place each morning to practice a variety of new teaching ideas using authentic materials. The teachers will develop different subjects and topics (in particular Physical Education) through listening and speaking, grammar review and vocabulary.

In the afternoon the participants will be introduced to a variety of outdoor activities and techniques for teaching sport to primary and secondary children.

The visit of the surroundings will familiarise the group and encourage their knowledge of Ireland.

A lecture and discussion on Physical Education in Northern Ireland will permit comparison the teaching of sport in the different EU Countries.
