Arts and craft activities Fermanagh

Share offers an ongoing prograrts arenaamme of arts activities for visitors to the centre with a wide choice of opportunities to take part in visual and creative arts. For example:-

  • Mask Making
  • Film Making
  • Face Painting
  • Silk Painting
  • Batik
  • Circus Skills

The newly developed arts arena provides the base for all these programmes and is also available as a resource to groups who wish to run their own arts programmes, or need a venue to practice, rehearse or perform.

A wide range of audio visual and theatre equipment is also available.

Our resident arts workers can design arts programmes specific to your needs and the experienced and enthusiastic arts team are available to advise and assist with all aspects of the Arena, including lighting and sound equipment.

Share Arts recognises the ability of the arts to make an important contribution to sustaining social,cultural, educational, economic activities in any region and so, by extension, improve quality of life and well being. 

Out of an appreciation for the specific needs a rural area has, Share Arts offers two creative arts programmes:

An arts and crafts programme for its residential and day visitors.  This includes film making, pottery and T-Shirt painting to all ages and ability.

A community arts programme which includes participating in a wide varity of workshops:  dance, drama, writing, film making, circus skills and visual arts.  Again these are for people of all ages and abilities and they are designed to be participant led.  They run at the Centre or outreach to schools and community venues.

 

Some recent projects that Share have been involved with:

Lisnaskea Fool Time Community Festival - the annual festival in partnership with local business, community associations, schools, youth groups and artists.

Child’s Play Theatre School held during school holidays.

Circus workshops for adults with learning disability in partnership with Streetwise Community Circus.

Off the Wall Dance Company, dancers with disability who choreograph and perform shows that perform at Share and other venues.

SHARing Cultural Heritage, a long term project for teenagers and young adults to explore issues around their culture and society through arts practice. View the Erne Archipelago Project here.

Battle of the Bands, performance opportunities for young musicians.

Disabled arts workshops in a range of disciplines to provide positive experiences of disability and give opportunities to professional disability practitioners.

Share also hosts professional touring theatre and dance companies.

Core funding for Share Art’s programme comes from Arts Council N.Ireland and Share Centre.  The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Community Relations Council, Lloyds TSB, Northern Bank, Fermanagh Trust, Heritage Lottery, ASDA, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Enkalon Foundation and Fermanagh District Council have all funded projects from 2006-2008.
