70 Wild Miles
Saturday 1st June 2013
Starts 9am
70 Wild Miles is a triathlon consisting of a 47 mile cycle, 10 mile canoe and a 13 mile run in aid of children with cancer.
It is not a race as such, the real purpose being to assist in the fight against Cancer. The immediate beneficiary being CLIC Sargent (Caring for Children with Cancer), who receive every penny raised from the sponsorship.
So, if you’re the kind of enthusiast to whom the thought of cycling the 47 miles (75km.), canoeing a loch for the next 10 miles (16km.), and finishing with a 13 mile (22km.) run sounds like a fun day out - then this might just be what you are looking for! The added bonus is that it’s all for a good cause and there’s great scenery too - if the weather and your state of fitness let you admire it.
You don't have to compete in the event, We're always looking for more VOLUNTEERS to help with the organising and running of the event. Or if you wish to make a donation through sponsorship or direct to the charity we will welcome that as well.
CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children's cancer charity, is a national charity committed to providing care, every step of the way, to children and young people diagnosed with cancer or leukemia and their families. CLIC Sargent acts as a lifeline, keeping families together when the unimaginable happens. We provide clinical, psychosocial, emotional and financial support to children, young people and their families.
We need your support to raise £s for children with cancer.
