MARITIME SCULPTURE II
Creative Bronze Boat Fittings
Using Bronze Age Technology
Artist: Holger Christian Lönze
Venue: Share Arts Centre, Lisnaskea
Dates: Sat 6th, Sun 7th & Sat 13th March
Time: 9:30am - 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
Cost: £10 per day / £24 for all 3 days
This practical workshop will give participants a practical insight into 5,000
year-old technology, bringing Bronze-Age archaeology and local history
alive. The group will research, design and make small sculpture objects in
bronze facilitating the lost wax metal working technology of the Bronze and Iron Ages. Taking current environmental issues into consideration, the participants will be using carbon-neutral pit kilns together with abundant and regenerative materials, gaining valuable hands-on experience in all stages of this craft process. The objects could be made specifically for use on the currach or on other boats. Please bring old work clothes and gloves. For more information, please visit www.holgerlonze.com/casting.
